Fibrosis Index

Albumin (g/L) :
Platelet Count (10^9/L) :

In patients with Hepatitis C an F-index >= 2.1 shows significant fibrosis.

Formula :

8.28 – [(0.01 x Platelets (10^9/L) – [1.08 * (10 * serum albumin (g/L))]]

Explanation of Result :

If F-index < 2.1, no or minimal fibrosis. A F-index >= 2.1 shows significant fibrosis. A F-index >= 3.3 predicts cirrhosis.

* Please verify all calculations prior to clinical use.
